Right away I want to apologize for my Sokka-like drawing ability in the first panel. This was rushed.
So the gAangs back in the desert (don't know why) and thirsty, and they somehow forget tell Zuko to stay away from the cactus juice. Thus, causing him to use cheesy pick-up lines.
